It has nothing to do with Incas. It's a hot-spring resort that was the victim of a avalanche some 70 years ago. After the snow and ice had melted and most of the debris had washed away this 'bridge' was left over, covered with minerals from the hot spring which is still pumping out crystal clear bubbly water.
