I wanted to take a photo of the night skyline so I walked into a large building and asked the guard on duty if I could take some photos from the roof. In any western country the guard would have thrown me out of the building or have me arrested, but in many less developed places people are more friendly and helpful, so 15 minutes later he opened the windows from the observation-lounge for me.
