Local tribes had put up a road-block on the 'Karakoram highway', but we found a mountain-guide willing to take us past it following small tracks in the mountains. It was an almost mystical route, passing small settlements high up the mountain-slopes. The views on 8,000 + meter mountains makes you feel rather small.
